“As a Master Gardener interested in learning more about native plants of the Northwest I found Kul Kah Han Native Plant Garden to be a wonderful resource. There are many mature plant specimens, some mass plantings of single varieties, and overall a tremendous variety of plants with excellent signage. Our visit was inspirational and certainly has left me with a desire to continue learning about and promoting native plants. A big thank you to the volunteers who created and maintain this gem!

Garden Map

As you explore our one-acre garden, you will learn:

  • Where and how these plants thrive

  • Their unique traits

  • Their contribution to sustainable landscaping practices

Native plants flourished here long before European settlers arrived, serving as essential resources for indigenous communities.

Each garden area reflects specific regional plant communities found in the wild across the Olympic Peninsula, Southwest British Columbia, Western Washington, Western Oregon, and the Columbia River Gorge. By observing these natural groupings, you'll gain insights into the ideal placement and care of plants in your own landscape.

“The Native Plant Garden at the HJ Carroll County Park is a wonderful way to spend a morning learning about (native) plants found in our Pacific Northwest region. The garden has a large selection of specimens that are well identified and labeled with great information.”
