A deciduous woody vine 10′ tall. Leaves are opposite, oval to 3″ long with pointed tips, often with fine hairs along the margins.

Clusters of tubular 1″ long pink or pinkish yellow flowers bloom all summer. Red berries follow.

Found in open woods, rocky places and stream banks at low to mid-elevations. Native from SW BC through California. Dry to moist.
