Pinus monticola – Western White Pine

An evergreen tree symmetyrically branched to over 100′ tall (25′ in 20 years)

Needles are light bluish green in bundles of 5. Small pollen cones without prickles on scales.

Found in moist valleys, bogs, and dry slopes from sea level to subalpine.

Native to the western states.
